Specifications for large and complex machines themselves become large and complex. Automatically turning a specification into an active semantic structure provides a way to activate the specification, and check it for errors, inconsistencies and incoherence using tools that are more familiar to engineers than grammarians, preventing those errors creeping through into what the specification describes.

We have limits on how much we can comprehend at once – semantic structures can help to break those limits.

Applications are as diverse as the things people make – if words are used to describe them, and there are more than ten pages of specification, then it is probably a job for Orion Semantic Structure.
